We give thanks for the long, rich life of Gisela Koester, née Harrassowitz, a longtime member and congregational leader of University Lutheran Church, who died peacefully on January 15, 2025, at the age of 98 with her family by her side.

Gisela’s friend Michael DePlonty, a beloved member of the UniLu community who made music with the Koester family for many years, recorded two movements of Bach’s Cello Suite No. 5 for the service at Gisela’s request. Listen to Michael performing the Sarabande and Gigue.
