We give thanks for the life of Harry Rothmann, a beloved member of the UniLu community, who died on March 28, 2023. He was two days away from his 88th birthday.
Harry was a longtime member and congregational leader at University Lutheran, serving on the Church Council in the 1960s and 1970s, on the Board of Education from 1978 to 1980, on the Endowment Committee from 2007 to 2013, and on the Finance Committee for the 1998 capital campaign. He was a regular at Sunday worship services, attending via Zoom for the last years of his life.
Our prayers are with Harry’s son Richard Rothmann and his wife, Sally; with his daughter Kristin Mercer and her husband, Robert; with his eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and with his companion, Ruth Young. His wife, Marlene Rothmann, died in 2004, and his son, Steven Rothmann, in 2015.
Visiting hours were held at the Lane Funeral Home, 760 Main St. (Rte. 38), Winchester, on Friday, March 31, from 3-7 pm. A funeral service took place at the Crawford Memorial United Methodist Church, 34 Dix St., Winchester, on Saturday, April 1, at 11 am.
